J. Michael Walker researched the history of each one and the saint whose name it bears, then spent time on the street seeking, as he put it, "the soul of the saint."

The resulting collection of paintings, stories, and poems is collected in his new book, published by Heyday Books, and is on display, through September 7, 2008, at the Autry National Center, in Los Angeles.
